Monthly Tip
Wear and tear, ground movement or shrinkage may cause cracks in caulking, leading to mildew or water damage. Fill in any gaps with latex or similar caulking. Check the surface of the tub/pan every 30 days and repair as necessary.

Remaining Winter Tips Items - Indoor
Set up a file for the impending tax season and make your tax appointment.
Inspect carpet and flooring. Take advantage of off-season sales on professional cleaning.
Clean sports equipment such as bicycles and tennis rackets to keep them in good shape.
Clean tracks and lubricate hinges on windows as recommended by manufacturer.
Vacuum walls, baseboards, furniture and floors.
Wash windows inside your house.
Oil locks and hinges as necessary as recommended by manufacturer.
Check water heater for leaks and pilot light as recommended by manufacturer.
Check washing machine hoses for cracks, blisters, corroded fittings and leaks. Replace if necessary as recommended by manufacturer.
Pick one closet in the house and de-clutter it.
Remaining Winter Tips Items - Outdoor
Prepare for springtime by getting started on landscaping chores.
Lightly prune trees and shrubs, removing dead and diseased wood.
Rototill empty garden beds if soil is dry enough.
Check for snow and ice on roof overhang/vents (if applicable).
Check pathways around house for ice (if applicable).
Check roof for excessive snow (if applicable).
Prune overgrown hedges.
Inspect your garden beds looking for weeds. Remove them as soon as you spot them. Watering the soil beforehand will make it easier.
Check your gutters, downspouts and roof for leaks. Schedule repair if necessary.
